KSB completes expansion of GIW’s Grovetown facility

KSB has announced the completion of its US$44 million multiphase enlargement of the GIW facility in Grovetown, Georgia, USA.

The first two phases of the expansion had been approved in 2013 in response to growing market demand for bigger equipment. Since then, the Grovetown facility has accomplished upgrades, added tens of 1000’s of sq. feet to its foundry, increased furnace capability, completed development on a distribution centre, and gained approval for three further phases of enchancment.
With the completion of the project, KSB has quadrupled its capability to mould castings over 20,000 lbs (9000 kg), elevated its maximum pouring output by as much as sixty six,000 lbs (30,000 kg), reduced the variety of required shot blast runs by 50%, added particular cleaning stations for large castings, applied new technology and efficiency solutions, and doubled worker locker room amenities.
KSB went ahead with the project’s completion, regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic and its financial fallout.
