Thailand’s Foreign Minister has shrugged off the truth that Thailand has not been invited to a democracy summit being hosted by the US. Thai PBS World stories that Don Pramudwinai says the occasion is, “nothing more than pure politics”. The summit is scheduled to happen from December 9-10 and Thailand has been left off the guest listing. Controversially, Taiwan has not.
During a House of Representatives session, Don was requested by opposition MP Suthin Klangsaeng from the Pheu Thai party why Thailand had not been invited. He responded by dismissing the occasion and stating that not all ASEAN international locations are on the visitor list. ติดตั้งโซล่าเซลล์ใกล้ฉัน advised that maybe it was a great factor Thailand had not been invited.
“It’s nothing greater than pure politics being performed by some international locations against one another. Some countries which have democratic elections weren’t invited both. Maybe, we ought to be glad that we were not invited. This may turn into a double-edged sword.”
The US State Department has invited Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines to participate in the event, which plans to address diminishing human rights and freedoms worldwide. In total, 110 individuals have made the guest listing, but China and Russia haven’t. Not solely that, but China has been left furious by the US inviting Taiwan to participate, with Zhao Lijian from China’s Foreign Ministry issuing an announcement confirming the government’s opposition.
“U.S. actions solely go to indicate democracy is just a cover and a software for it to advance its geopolitical goals, oppress different countries, divide the world and serve its personal interests.”
Taiwan has accepted the invitation to the summit and will be represented by its de-facto ambassador in Washington, Hsiao Bi-khim, along with Digital Minister Audrey Tang.
“Our country’s invitation to take part in the ‘Summit for Democracy’ is an affirmation of Taiwan’s efforts to promote the values of democracy and human rights over time.”
